At the Paris Motor Show “Mondial de l’Automobile 2018”, the BMW Group presented its new products, including the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant (or IPA for short). But at the same time, in central Paris, it was all about “Hey Mona Lisa!”.
On the square in front of the “Centre Georges Pompidou”, BMW caught everybody’s attention with a huge, 70-square-metre LED installation of the famous Mona Lisa, which tied in with the presentation of the new BMW Personal Assistant. In contrast to Leonardo da Vinci’s rather small original painting, the LED installation was brought to life on a 10-metre-high by 7.5-metre-wide screen. Did you ever wonder what her mysterious smile might mean? Well, just ask! In fluent English, French or German, Mona Lisa answered everything curious visitors wanted to know. Using face tracking technology, she even moved her face and hands and sang songs (and rapped!) with the audience, bringing this 500-year-old painting to life.
